Lobster mmmmmmmmmmmm....

Eating lobster and drinking wine are a great way to wind down the semester.
Sea food is definately an aquired taste. Either you really like it, or you do not like it at all.
Trying new things on a regular basis is great for you soul. Keeps you searching for what you like or dislike.
I hope that I can send this message to my future students.

Beautiful Saskatchewan

I think that we are too critical of Saskatchewan sometimes. I think we are coming into a great time in Saskatchewan.

What would our province be with out seasons. I love the different seasons, always something to look forward to. Other countries do not talk about the weather like us. As Saskatchewanians, we have to talk about the weather day to day because it is so different everyday. We all keep each other informed to keep each other safe from the weather, storms, blizzards, icy roads, super hot days.

I love living here. Always thought i wanted to leave Saskatchewan when i was in highschool and that has definately changed. This province is pretty progressive right now. I like the slow pace of smaller cities, and the room that we have. If i want to go somewhere bigger i have an airport to take me. Cost of living is very inexpensive. I am proud to say i was born and raised here and plan on contributing my knowledge if jobs are available to me.

I think it is important for us to share the importance of our province and country to our students. We are always being pushed to feel ashamed about our beautiful province. We need to let our students know that we all contribute to our country and that every place is different which makes everywhere beautiful.

Celebrate our heritage

2 Degrees

Taking two degrees in University is not an easy task. So I am currently taking my BA in visual arts and my BEd in Arts Education. Well let me tell you that you can only be in one faculty at one time, so that leaves you running around to two different advisors, scrambling for classes. Not the best way to spend in a stressful time of the year, but worth it in the end when I end up with two seperate degrees.

Americans are so ignorant

Last night I was at the Ramada having a steak supper when I overheard an American lady talking loudly on her cell phone. She was saying "they call their one dollar coin a loonie and the 2 dollar coin a twoonie, and they call their mothers Mom". I was so surprised, disappointed, angry and not tolerant of that situation at all, for the fact that she was sitting in a Canadian restaurant talking about his. How ignorant can you truly be. I have only met 2 americans that I like all the others are just so ignorant to the world around them. We are on the same continent, country beside country and they still have no correct knowledge about Canada. There is my rant for the day. I am definately going to keep my ears open this whole weekend since the agribition is here and many Americans are floating around with there judging, ignorant attitudes.

Group Projects in University

University is definately a crazy time in a students life. Its not just busy its crazy. Never have enough time. Technology is not always on your side. Trying to get my ecmp 355 major project done over the weekend and the battery on the camera ,i borrowed from AV services at the U of R, was dead and would not charge. So there goes one weekend of homework due to the difficulties with Technology.
I am happy that I am learning more about computers and technology. Our project is about all the different types of art including sculpture, paintings, drawings, music, literature, theatre, dance etc... the only thing about doing this project is getting together in our group. There is only 3 of us and it is pretty hard organizing a time to do our project together. We know we will get it done, just need patience and need to keep busy with my other classes to keep up.
University is great. Even though university is so expensive it is worth it in the long run because we start out with a good salary and we will be doing a job that we love not one that we have to do.

Just a thought

Our society is so silly.
How can we have legal and illegal drugs?
Alcohol and cigarettes are horrible drugs. Cigarettes are so addicting and the government makes so much money off of them, why would they ever want to make cigarettes illegal with all the money that it racks in. Legal smoking is so detrimental to our health care system.

How do you decide what drugs are safer then the next drug.
Just something to think about.

Cheers
don't smoke
